A WordPress-based digital environment supporting language and cultural mobilization work in partnership with Heiltsuk Nation and local community partners had fallen critically out of date. Built as a shared installation with the Relational Lexicography project, the site faced the same technical challenges: years of deferred updates had created incompatibilities that prevented standard upgrade processes. DiSA conducted an iterative migration, advancing through WordPress versions while tracing JavaScript errors to identify and resolve conflicts. The recovery process successfully updated the site’s infrastructure while preserving all community-generated content and functionality, ensuring the platform remains viable for ongoing language revitalization work.
