A cultural-critical WordPress-based dictionary project developed through community collaboration needed updating due to plugin conflicts and display failures. Standard WordPress upgrade procedures did not coincide with existing codebase of current versions. DiSA developed an iterative migration strategy, advancing through successive WordPress versions, while conducting JavaScript error tracing at each stage to identify breaking plugins and resolve compatibility issues.
DiSA also successfully separated this web resource from shared infrastructure with the Heiltsuk language project, preserving all functionality and content while preparing the site for eventual transition to community stewardship.
